Episode Title: “From Metal to Country: The Ghost Riff Riders’ Southern Shift”

Introduction:

  • Wyatt Greene: (Opening music fades out) “Howdy, y’all! Welcome back to Lone Star Soundscapes, where we dive deep into the stories behind the music that makes the South sing. I’m your host, Wyatt Greene, and today, we’ve got two very special guests from the band Ghost Riff Riders—Jaxon ‘The Beast’ Kane and Joe K ‘Hammer.’ Now, you might know these guys from their heavy metal days, but recently they’ve been making waves in the country music scene. We’re gonna talk about their journey, their new album, and the wild stories from the road. So, without further ado, let’s welcome Jaxon and Joe to the show!”

Segment 1: The Road to Country Music

  • Wyatt: “Alright, boys, let’s jump right in. You’ve had quite the journey from heavy metal to country music. How did that transition happen?”
    • Jaxon: “Well, Wyatt, it all started after a pretty wild tour. We were on the road with a band called Sirens of Sacrifice—killer headline act, literally.”
    • Joe: (Chuckles) “Yeah, they ended up getting arrested for causing over 20 deaths of fans and randoms on the road. It was a mess. After that, we needed a break from the chaos.”
    • Jaxon: “Yeah, and during that downtime, we found ourselves in Dallas, just hanging out at this local country bar. One night, we picked up some acoustic guitars, played a few tunes, and the locals loved it. As long as it was acoustic or country, they were all ears.”
  • Wyatt: “So, the transition wasn’t really planned?”
    • Joe: “Not at all. It just sort of happened. We were actually working on renovations for a hotel to get a studio built, and in the meantime, we started recording some stuff at that bar with the help of our manager, Sam Carter. The rest is history.”

Segment 2: The New Album – Whiskey and Smoke

  • Wyatt: “So this new album, Whiskey and Smoke, is your second foray into country music, right?”
    • Jaxon: “Yeah, that’s right. Our first country album was Mirage, Texas, which had a bit of a supernatural twist to it—Texas tunes with a ghostly edge. But Whiskey and Smoke is more grounded. It’s bluesy, acoustic, with a lot of regret and memories.”
  • Wyatt: “And you guys have been through a lot recently, right? I have to ask—what happened with Nikki Hart?”
    • Joe: (Sighs) “Yeah, Nikki and I broke up. It’s a long story, but she wanted to steer clear of the strange stuff—both musically and supernaturally. So she left the band and me.”
    • Wyatt: “How are you dealing with that? You two were a powerhouse duo, both in the band and in your personal lives.”
    • Joe: “Well, I channeled it into music. That’s where Whiskey and Smoke comes in. Writing two depressing country albums was my therapy, I guess.”
  • Wyatt: “I get that. So, what’s your favorite song from the new album that you can point our listeners to?”
    • Joe: “Definitely the title track, ‘Whiskey and Smoke.’ It’s got a lot of emotion, and you can almost taste the whiskey just listening to it.”
    • Wyatt: “That’s powerful stuff. For those listening, head over to YouTube and check out the Ghost Riff Riders channel or search for Whiskey and Smoke. You won’t regret it.”

Segment 3: Future of Ghost Riff Riders

  • Wyatt: “So, is this the last country album for the group? Or are you guys sticking with this sound?”
    • Jaxon: “I’d say yes, but we said that after the last one too. The fans seem to love the country and metal mashup, and even mixing it on the same album. Texas Metal is a thing now.”
    • Joe: “We never really know where we’re headed next, but for now, we’re embracing the country vibe.”

Segment 4: Nicknames and Fun Anecdotes

  • Wyatt: “Now, I’ve gotta ask about these nicknames—‘Hammer’ and ‘The Beast.’ Where did those come from?”
    • Joe: (Laughs) “Hammer’s easy. I started off as a roadie and loved beating the ever-loving… well, let’s say ‘stuff’ out of equipment that wouldn’t behave.”
    • Wyatt: (Chuckles) “That’s fair enough. And Jaxon, what about ‘The Beast’?”
    • Jaxon: “You’ve gotta see me on the drums to understand why. When I get going, it’s like I’m possessed, man. The name is well earned.”
  • Wyatt: “I can imagine. Oh, and before we wrap up, I was told to mention that both Jaxon and Joe are single right now—ladies, get those tickets to the gigs and make an orderly line!”
    • Both: (Laughs) “Thanks, Wyatt!”

Conclusion:

  • Wyatt: “Well, it’s been a pleasure having you guys on the show. Thanks for sharing your stories, and I’m sure our listeners are gonna love Whiskey and Smoke. Any final words for the fans?”
    • Jaxon: “Just keep an eye on us—we’ve got more music coming, and you never know what direction we’ll take next.”
    • Joe: “And don’t forget to check out the new album. It’s been a wild ride, and we’re grateful for all the support.”
  • Wyatt: “Thanks again, fellas. And to all our listeners, keep tuning in to Lone Star Soundscapes for more stories behind the music that keeps the South singing. Until next time, this is Wyatt Greene signing off!”
