Press Release from Ghost Riff Riders’ Manager, Sam Carter
We wish to address the recent events surrounding our former tour mates, “Sirens of Sacrifice,” and the ongoing investigation by law enforcement. Due to the sensitive nature of the investigation, we are limited in what we can share beyond what has already been reported by the Texas State Police and the record label we were both signed under.
As many of you have heard, our band, Ghost Riff Riders, became suspicious of “Sirens of Sacrifice” due to their comments, behavior, and the strange disappearances in several towns where we performed together. These suspicions led one of our members to break into their equipment trailer, where they discovered evidence that linked the band to these disappearances. We took photos of the scene and reported it immediately to the authorities.
Following our cooperation with the Texas State Police and after negotiating with our lawyer, we were released. The deal we made was not for immunity or any special treatment; rather, we asked to be kept out of the public eye until the evidence was presented in court. Our intention was to avoid being unfairly associated with the heinous actions of a group we once considered friends.
In the aftermath, our contract with the record company, which included an agreement for two albums, was canceled. Their words in a press release—”Sirens of Sacrifice will be missed. They were one of our top-grossing bands.”—make it clear that our honesty came at a significant cost. However, that was a price we were willing to pay to prevent further harm to innocent people.
Our deepest condolences go out to the families and communities affected by these tragic events. To support those impacted, we have made a donation to a Go-Pay-Send account established by the State of Texas.
Ghost Riff Riders remain committed to our music, our fans, and doing what’s right, no matter the cost.
—Sam Carter, Manager of Ghost Riff Riders
